Deletion Of Erased Records

If you are a Connecticut resident and your pardon has been granted by the Board of Pardons, your pardon will begin to go into affect. According to state laws, “A pardon will automatically erase court records of the offense and prohibits employers from inquiring about the record.” This means that you will legally not have to disclose the crime or misdemeanor to employers now and in the future.
While there are some situations in which you won’t have to disclose your criminal history to a potential employer due to ban the box, the only sure fire way for this to happen is if you have a pardon and the criminal record is fully erased.

Once you get a pardon, your criminal record needs to get expunged from government databases, and this does not necessarily happen overnight. This process can take a while, so if people search for your criminal history for a certain period of time after your pardon is granted, it might still come up. The Board of Pardons will notify you when your criminal history leaves all databases. Sometimes, this process can take a few weeks or months.

In addition to this, if your sentence excluded you from owning firearms, then once pardoned you can own firearms once more legally. Any previous employers who have record of the offenses before you got pardoned cannot share that information with anybody else.
